Ian Derry is a highly sought after portrait and lifestyle photographer known for his exquisite eye and collaborative style of working. He has photographed some of the worlds biggest icons, from Brad Pitt to Usain Bolt and Rod Stewart, not to mention a few politicians and a healthy sprinkle of royalty.
His debut short film JOHANNA - a stunning portrait of an Arctic free diver - almost crashed the internet when it was released on Nowness, quickly racking up millions of views on National Geographic’s channel and earning itself worldwide recognition. It was screened as part of the 2017 Saatchi & Saatchi New Directors Showcase in Cannes, picked up a D&AD nomination, it’s nominated for a Grierson award and won GOLD in Kinsale for best Doco Short Film. There was even a phone call from Oprah herself about it.
Since joining Archer’s Mark, Ian has made a name for himself creating soulful, beautifully considered work for global giants such as Versace, Hugo Boss and FitBit.
