Directed by: Steve Jamison
In the crystal clear waters surrounding a remote Sicilian island, a twelve year-old boy explores the limits of his independence for the first time. A modern-day fable, Immersione is a film of striking purity.
Having fallen in love with the most remote Sicilian Islands whilst writing a feature several years ago, Director Steve Jamison decided it was time to return. Only this time he took a camera with him. With a one-page script outline and enough rudimentary Sicilian dialect to get by gave himself a whopping four days to cast, recce locations, rehearse and shoot.
Anyone who ever said don’t work with animals or children was lying. Though we’d probably advise against getting too close to the jellyfish!
Thanks to the community of Linosa for their support and enthusiasm throughout!
