"We've only just begun to explore VR's potential - powerful experiences like Notes On Blindness inspire us to dream about what might be possible."
Sheryl Sandberg, Facebook's Chief Operating Officer
One of the most downloaded experiences ever on Oculus Store, and hailed as one of the format’s most memorable experiences to date, Notes on Blindness: Into Darkness has been pivotal in redefining VR’s capabilities as an empathy device.
Following its premiere at Sundance 2016, the experience was exhibited alongside the theatrical film in select cinemas, as well as numerous international festivals. It won the Tribeca Storyscapes Award, the Alternate Realities VR Award at Sheffield Doc/Fest 2016, the Prix Europa Award for Best European Online Project, and was nominated for the VR&AR Award at the prestigious SXSW 2017 Interactive Innovation Awards.
With creative direction from our London-based team and programming courtesy of French outlet Audio Gaming, the project was a unique collaboration that marked the beginning of what will no doubt be a long and fruitful relationship: we’ve already begun work on our next, even more ambitious project.
